Leading Economic Indicators Post Biggest Gain in Seven Months

An index of leading economic indicators rose 0.6% in September, the most in seven months, the New York-based Conference Board said Thursday.

The rise followed a revised 0.4% drop in August. Economists had forecast a 0.2% rise, Bloomberg reported.

The LEI is closely watched by trucking companies because it forecasts business activity for the next three to six months.
