Leading Economic Indicators Fall 0.8%

An index of leading economic indicators declined in October for the third time in four months, the New York-based Conference Board said Thursday.

The 0.8% drop followed a 0.1% increase in September, the group said.

The decline was worse than economists’ forecasts of a 0.6% decline, Bloomberg reported.

The LEI is closely watched by trucking companies because it forecasts business activity for the next three to six months.
