Leading Economic Indicators Dip 0.1% in April

he index of U.S. leading economic indicators declined 0.1% in April, the Conference Board reported Thursday.

The dip followed a 0.4% gain in March, the group said.

The downturn was led by declines in building permits and consumer confidence.



The LEI index, which measures the likely performance of the U.S. economy over the next three to six months, is closely watched by trucking companies because it forecasts business activity for the next three to six months.
