Landstar’s First-Quarter Income, Revenue Reach Records

The company’s newly named global logistics group generated $173 million in revenue, up from $124 million a year earlier.
ruckload carrier Landstar System Thursday reported a record first-quarter profit of $24.4 million or 41 cents a share, up from $16.8 million or 27 cents a year earlier.
Revenue rose to a record $610 million for the quarter, from $502 million a year earlier.
Its carrier group of companies generated $428 million in revenue, up from $371 million in the previous first quarter.
