Landstar's 3Q Earnings, Revenue Decline

ruckload carrier Landstar System on Thursday reported its third-quarter net income declined to $30.6 million or 53 cents a share, down from $34.6 million or 58 cents a year earlier.

Revenue declined to $649 million, down from $676 million in 2005, the company said.

Landstar’s carrier group of companies generated $461 million in revenue, up from $414 million in the previous third quarter.

The company’s global logistics group generated $180 million in revenue, down from $254 million in 2005.
