Truckload carrier Landstar System said Thursday its second-quarter net income rose to $29.7 million or 53 cents a share, from $29.5 million or 50 cents a year ago.
Revenue dipped to $633 million from $643 million, Landstar said in a statement.
The company’s carrier group of companies generated $470 million in the quarter, up from $468 million in last year’s second quarter.
Landstar System is ranked No. 14 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
