Kiva Systems Sold to Amazon

Amazon.com has agreed to acquire Kiva Systems Inc., a privately held maker of robotic warehouse systems, for about $775 million in cash.

In a statement, Amazon.com said the purchase of Kiva should close in the second quarter. In addition to material handling systems, Kiva also provides logistics and distribution operations software.
