Kenworth Offers Synthetic Axle Lube as Standard

Kenworth Truck Co. will make standard on its Class 5-8 trucks a synthetic axle lube that will boost fuel economy by 1%, the company said.
Kenworth said it will introduce the synthetic lube, Cognis Emgard FE 75W-90, into production at its plants located in Chillicothe, Ohio; Renton, Wash.; and Sainte-Therese, Quebec.

Kenworth said that the synthetic axle lube also increases gear life, provides extended drain and all-season lubrication and helps reduce maintenance and downtime.

“Fuel economy is extremely important to customers today, and an estimated gain of up to 1% in fuel efficiency can help produce significant annual savings for a truck fleet or owner-operator,” said Gary Moore, Kenworth’s assistant general manager for marketing and sales.
