Kenworth Truck Co. received its largest hybrid truck order ever, from Coca-Cola Enterprises, in which Kenworth will provide 150 of its T370 diesel-electric tractors and 35 hybrid T370 trucks.

All of the Class 7 trucks will be on the road this year, Kenworth said Thursday, adding that its T370 tractors are the largest hybrid delivery trucks on the road in North America.

Coca-Cola uses tractors as its standard bulk delivery truck for large deliveries and plans to deploy the tractors to 18 U.S. cities and two cities in Canada.

The T370s, rated at 33,000 lbs., will be deployed to 10 cities, joining Coke’s fleet of 120 Kenworth 12-bay hybrid delivery trucks.

The T370s are equipped with a PX-6 engine made by Kenworth parent company Paccar Inc., and using a diesel-electric hybrid power system made by Eaton Corp.
