Kenan Advantage Group Acquires Bulk Express

ulk transportation and logistics company Kenan Advantage Group said last week it bought Bulk Express, a transporter of high-temperature products such as coal and asphalt.

Terms of the deal were not released. Bulk Express generates about $20 million annually, Kenan said in a statement.

“Our purchase of BXI represents our ongoing search for specialized companies that offer high value in their industry with a record of strong profitability,” said Dennis Nash, Kenan’s chief executive officer.



Kenan now operates more than 2,200 power units and 2,700 trailers nationwide though its operating subsidiaries.

Kenan, ranked No. 46 on the Transport Topics 100, was purchased by private equity firm Littlejohn & Co. in January. (Click here for previous coverage.)
