KISSIMMEE, Fla. Kari Rihm, president of Minnesota-based Rihm Kenworth, won the Influential Woman in Trucking award presented by the Women in Trucking Association and Navistar.

Rihm was recognized during the Truckload Carriers Association meeting here. She has grown the dealership from three to five locations since taking over in 2010, when her husband died. Rihm took over a dealership that was in its third generation of family ownership, and she has now been joined by her two children in the business.

The employee count has risen by 50% at the company, which is the only 100% woman-owned Kenworth dealer in the United States, according to the announcement from Women in Trucking.

“Women make a difference in the trucking industry every day, and the goal of the Influential Woman in Trucking Award is to shine a spotlight on their contributions,” said Lisa Hartenberger, Navistar’s director of communications.

Ellen Voie, president of the Women In Trucking Association, said the group “was thrilled to honor a woman who has been so influential. Kari is proof women are achieving great things in trucking.”
