July Trailer Orders Increase 36.7%

New trailer orders rose 36.7% in July from a year ago, the strongest July since 2006, ACT Research reported.

U.S. trailer manufacturers booked 19,283 net orders during July, up from 14,105 a year ago, ACT said.

On a sequential basis, orders slipped 12.3% from June’s total of 21,997. The summer months are typically the year’s slowest.

This year’s orders have averaged a 45% gain every month year-over-year, and year to date orders have climbed 41%, to 174,947 from 121,441 in the first seven months of 2013.
