Judge Dismisses Navistar’s Engine Suit Against Ford
Calls for Mediation Between Two Companies
Ford Motor Co. said an Illinois judge dismissed a lawsuit by Navistar International Corp. over diesel engines Navistar supplies for Ford’s pickup trucks, Bloomberg reported.
Judge Dennis Burke in Cook County Circuit Court recommended the two companies to enter mediation to resolve their dispute, according to a copy of the decision, Bloomberg reported late Friday.
A Navistar spokesman told Bloomberg the company looked forward to resolving the dispute via mediation. If mediation fails, Navistar can refile the suit, Bloomberg reported.
Navistar filed the lawsuit in June 4, saying Ford violated a contract by developing its own diesel engine for the F-150 pickup truck.
