Jobless Claims Rise 19,000 for Week

irst-time jobless claims rose by 19,000 to 332,000 last week, the Labor Department reported Thursday.

The level was higher than economists’ forecast of a gain to 320,000, Bloomberg reported.

Continuing jobless claims for the previous week ended July 1 fell to 2.429 million from 2.447 million a week earlier.
