Jobless Claims Fall 24,000 for Week

Initial jobless claims fell by 24,000 for the week ended Saturday, the Labor Department said.

Jobless claims fell to 351,000, the lowest level since January, the department said Thursday.

The four-week moving average, a less volatile measure, fell to 359,500, from 361,000.

The number of people continuing to collect unemployment benefits rose to 2.831 million for the previous week ended Feb. 23, from 2.802 million the previous week.
