Jobless Claims Drop 30,000 for Week

irst-time jobless claims fell by 30,000 to 304,000 last week, the Labor Department reported Thursday.

The level was below economists’ forecast of 320,000 initial claims, Bloomberg reported.

Continuing jobless claims for the previous week ended July 8 rose to 2.505 million from 2.42 million a week earlier.
