ORLANDO, Fla. — J.J. Keller & Associates Inc. announced its electronic-logging mobile application will soon be available for Apple Inc.’s iPhone and iPad devices.

CEO James Keller said J.J. Keller is the first e-logging provider to receive certification from Apple.

The company’s KellerMobile compliance app is compatible with more than 40 Android smart phones and tablets.

“We’ve got the full gamut,” Keller said at an Oct. 19 news conference here. “With the compatibility with Apple, that brings that market. A lot of people already have iPhones and iPads.”

The app for iPhone and iPad is expected to be available for download in mid-November, said Tom Ditzler, senior product line manager for transport technology services.

The Apple-compatible app, like the Android version, runs J.J. Keller’s E-Logs and fleet management system. It collects data from the company’s electronic onboard recorder and transmits that data wirelessly to its Encompass back-office software, he said.

“There are some unique challenges in working with Apple because it’s a much more closed and proprietary ecosystem than the Android system. . . . but we’ve overcome all those challenges and worked hard so we could get this out to market,” Ditzler said.
