Jevic to Close Ohio Terminal

Jevic Transportation said it plans to close a facility in West Chester Township, Ohio, in June, the Hamilton (Ohio) News-Journal reported.

The closure is expected to result in up to 104 lost jobs at Jevic, which runs truckload and less-than-truckload operations, the paper said.

A company official told the News-Journal that Jevic will pay impacted employees for the next 60 days, and that some employees may be able to transfer to positions at the company’s 10 other terminals nationwide.

Jevic, a former unit of SCS Transportation (now Saia Inc.), was sold to private-equity firm Sun Capital Partners in 2006 for $40 million.
