J.B. Hunt Transport Services will enter a technology collaboration with project44, a visibility platform for shippers and 3PL firms. According to a Nov. 27 press release, the supply chain service provider will integrate project44 in J.B. Hunt 360 to provide customers with real-time shipment information, regardless of carrier.
J.B. Hunt 360 is a marketplace for freight matching for businesses and carriers that allows enhanced visibility into supply chain operations. The project44 collaboration intends to further the platform’s ability to generate cost savings, increase efficiency and improve service levels.
“The challenges our customers are facing today require greater visibility into their transportation network,” said Shelley Simpson, J.B. Hunt’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer. “By integrating project44 technology within J.B. Hunt 360, customers can view and manage multicarrier freight from a single platform, helping them streamline operations and meet their supply chain goals.”
The collaboration is part of J.B. Hunt’s effort to invest in and develop supply chain solutions. In 2017, the company announced a five-year, $500 million investment to create disruptive technology and enhance operating systems and infrastructure.
Based in Lowell, Ark., J.B. Hunt ranks No. 4 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America and No. 6 on the Transport Topics Top 50 list of the largest North American logistics companies.
