J.B. Hunt Adopts Drivewyze Weigh-Station Bypass Service On PeopleNet Units

J.B. Hunt Transport is adopting Drivewyze Inc.’s PreClear weigh-station bypass service through an integration with its in-cab PeopleNet units.

The intermodal and trucking company decided to invest in the bypass service after activating Drivewyze analytics on more than 8,000 company-owned trucks last year, the companies said in a joint announcement.

Greer Woodruff, J.B. Hunt’s senior vice president of safety, security and driver personnel, said the fleet’s drivers will see more bypasses and time savings with PreClear.

“In-depth analysis has supported a data-driven decision to adopt the Drivewyze service,” Woodruff said. “Delays affect both the driver and the fleet, having a significant impact on drive time, operational costs and productivity.

He said the integration of Drivewyze and PeopleNet will offer the fleet a 98% bypass rate while eliminating the costs and management of transponders.

Drivewyze said it offers bypass services at 545 inspection sites in 34 states.

J.B. Hunt, based in Lowell, Arkansas, ranks No. 3 on the Transport Topics’ Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.
