INCINNATI — Truck maintenance and information technology specialists said recently that IT is becoming integrated with trucking operations, but industry standards are needed to promote their use by fleets and their ability to increase income.

The trucking representatives spoke at the Information Technology & Logistics Forum during American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council Fall Meeting here Sept. 11. Transport Topics co-sponsored the forum.

Security technology was one example of information technology boosting traditional truck operations that panelists at the forum discussed.
