Iowa Trucking Firm to Test Biodiesel

ecker Truck Line of Fort Dodge, Iowa, will conduct a two-year trial of biodiesel that will allow researchers to compare the performance of the soy-based fuel with traditional diesel, the Associated Press reported Thursday.

Decker will run ten of its tractors on the alternative fuel for the duration of the test, AP said.

The trucks are expected to travel about 2 million miles during the study, AP reported.

Decker, which is primarily a refrigerated carrier, has about 600 tractors in its fleet, according to the company’s website.
