Intitial Jobless Claims Drop 10,000 for Week

he number of workers filing initial unemployment claims fell by 10,000 last week to 302,000 last week, the Labor Department reported Thursday.

That was below economists’ predictions of a rise to 305,000 new claims, Bloomberg reported.

The four-week moving average of claims, a less volatile measure, fell to 310,750 from 312,250.



ontinuing jobless claims for the previous week ended March 18 rose to 2.483 million from 2.463 million a week prior to that.
