Interpool Reports Improved 2005 Profit

nterpool Inc., a maker of shipping containers and chassis for intermodal container transport, said late Friday that its 2005 net income was $60.5 million or $1.94 per share, compared with $7.9 million or 27 cents the previous year.

evenue rose to $416.5 million in 2005 from $404.4 million in 2004.

“Our business continues to be strong, and we are currently very active in the marketplace and taking our share of new business, both for containers and chassis,” said Martin Tuchman, the company’s chief executive officer.



Interpool said last month that its container subsidiary has entered into an agreement to sell the majority of its cargo containers to a Swiss investor group for $515 million.
