Internet Software Tracks Cargo Globally

Geneer announced that it is set to release the first Internet-based software to trace shipments globally. The Global Shipment Tracking System will be the first in a suite of products that let Web users access information from around the world, the company said.

GlobalTrack was developed for manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and third-party logistics providers in the international market. It can operate on the Internet or a company’s internal network, and allows users to customize tracking and get data about cargo in transit.

The application was created by Celerix Inc., a logistics solutions provider, and developed by Geneer. It will be released in March. Other releases of the Java-based applications, set for later this year, include applications to automate freight payments of international shipments and to manage customs.
