iesel engine manufacturer International Truck and Engine Corp. will provide Ford Motor Co. with a new 6.4-liter diesel engine that the automaker will use in its 2008 F-Series Super Duty pickup truck, the company said Tuesday in a statement.

The engine, known as the Power Stroke, will utilize a high-pressure, common- rail fuel injection system, which will reduce emissions of fine particulate matter and enable the truck’s emissions to conform to EPA ’07 standards, Ford said Tuesday in a release.

International will manufacture the engines at its Indianapolis and Huntsville, Ala., facilities.
