Initial Jobless Claims Fall for Week

Initial jobless claims fell by 10,000 last week, the Labor Department said Thursday.

The decline to 453,000 claims for the week ended Saturday was slightly lower than economists’ forecasts, Bloomberg reported.

The four-week moving average, a less volatile measure, rose to 459,000, from 457,250 the previous week.

Continuing claims for the previous week ended May 22 rose 31,000 to 4.67 million, Labor said.
