Initial Jobless Claims Fall for Week

Initial jobless claims fell 5,000 last week, the Labor Department said Thursday.

Claims for the week ended Saturday dropped to 381,000 from a revised 386,000 that was higher than initially reported. Economists had forecast that claims would fall to 375,000, Bloomberg News reported.

The four-week moving average, a less volatile measure, rose to 375,250, from 372,000.
