Initial Jobless Claims Fall 11,000 for Week

he number of workers filing initial unemployment claims fell by 11,000 last week to 302,000 last week, the Labor Department reported Thursday.

That was below economists’ predictions of a fall to 305,000 claims from a previously reported 309,000, Bloomberg reported.

The four-week moving average of claims, a less volatile measure, rose to 303,500, from 297,500.



ontinuing jobless claims for the previous week ended March 11 rose to 2.472 million from a five year low of 2.434 million the week prior to that.
