Initial Jobless Claims Fall by 10,000 for Week

Initial jobless claims fell by 10,000 last week, following the previous week’s gain to a 14-month high, the Labor Department said Thursday.The decline to 328,000 new claims was slightly economists’ forecasts of 330,000, Bloomberg reported.The less-volatile four-week moving average rose to 339,00, the highest since October 2005, from 335,250 the previous week.The number of people continuing to collect benefits fell to 2.526 million from 2.624 million the previous week ended Feb. 24, Labor reported.
