Industry Groups Seek to Revive Legislation for Truck Safety Technology Incentives

everal trade groups are working to revive legislation that would provide a tax-incentive plan for fleets that purchase safety technology for their vehicles, officials told Transport Topics last week.

“This issue’s been simmering over the years,” said Steve Keppler, director of policy and programs for the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance.

Keppler said the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association also was seeking to have the incentive bill reintroduced in Congress.
