Industrial Production Unchanged in December

Industrial production was unchanged in December, the Federal Reserve said Wednesday.

The gain in production at factories, mines and utilities followed a 0.3% increase in November.

Economists had forecast decline in production, Bloomberg reported.

The share of industrial capacity in use fell to 81.4% from 81.6% a month earlier, the Fed said.

The factory sector is one of trucking’s largest and most important customers.
