Import Prices Unchanged in December

The price of goods imported to the United States did not change between November and December after four months of increases, the Labor Department said Thursday.

The index saw a 1.6% gain in November, which was smaller than previously estimated, Labor said.

Prices excluding fuels rose 0.5%. Export prices rose 0.6% after a 0.9% gain in November.

Economists had forecast import prices would not change, Bloomberg reported.
