The price of goods imported to the United States rose 0.7% in November, the first increase in four months, the Labor Department said Wednesday.

Prices excluding petroleum declined 0.2%.

The overall increase followed a 0.5% decline in October.

The gain was short of economists’ forecast of a 1% increase, Bloomberg reported.

U.S. export prices edged up 0.1%, following a 2.1% drop in October, Labor said.
