I.D. Systems Signs Intermodal Contract

I.D. Systems Inc. said it has signed a $700,000, five-year contract with a truckload carrier that will use the supplier’s VeriWise intermodal cellular domestic container management tool, the company announced.

I.D. Systems, in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, declined to identify the carrier but said it was a major firm. The supplier’s statement also said that its system will reduce cycle times for intermodal equipment by 72 hours, leading to an increase of 10% in utilization, displaying real-time information on loaded or unloaded status.

“This order represents the first large-scale fleet deployment of our new Intermodal Cellular solution,” President Kenneth Ehrman said in the statement.
