![]() | About 75,000 carriers will have to replace their ICC numbers with DOT identification on cab doors. |
The Department of Transportation estimated industry’s cost for complying at nearly $6 million, with much of the money being spent on the time it takes to paint or stencil the numbers onto both doors of the truck cab. The average time to put a DOT number and name on the power unit is calculated at about 12 minutes. Costs to the smallest carriers, identified by DOT as having fewer than six tractors, would be about $27 total.
