Hyliion Holdings Corp. announced private fleet GreenPath Logistics ordered 50 Hyliion Hypertruck ERX powertrains.

This order comes after Hyliion noted it had 100 orders from five fleets in hand during its latest earnings report and an additional 325 units in reservations, which now total 2,000.

Dallas-based GreenPath Logistics is a member of the Austin, Texas-based company’s Hypertruck Innovation Council.

It uses only vehicles powered by alternative fuels to move freight for Amazon, UPS Inc. and the U.S. Postal Service.

The Hypertruck ERX is an extended-range electric powertrain that is recharged by an onboard natural gas generator for Class 8 commercial trucks.

It aims to provide lower operating costs, emissions reductions and superior performance, according to the company.

“The deployment of Hypertruck ERX units in our operations is a momentous next step in our electrification journey that will benefit the environment, our company and our drivers,” James Purvis, president of GreenPath Logistics, said in a release. — Transport Topics
