Hub Group’s 1Q Earnings Increase

Logistics, intermodal and brokerage firm Hub Group’s first-quarter profit grew to $8.7 million, or 23 cents a share, from $6.2 million, or 17 cents, a year ago.

Revenue gained 19% to $417 million, the company said in a statement late Wednesday.



Intermodal revenue increased 17% to $287 million, which was attributable to a 16% increase in volume and a 6% increase for fuel, partially offset by a 5% decrease in prices and other factors.

Truck brokerage revenue grew 23% to $83 million, while logistics revenue gained 23% to $47 million.
