Hub Group Reports Record Second-Quarter Earnings

hird-party logistics provider Hub Group reported record second-quarter net earnings late Wednesday, posting a profit of $7.9 million or 38 cents a share, up 95% from $4 million or 24 cents last year.

The company said its revenue rose 6.5% to $371.6 million.

Intermodal revenue increased 4.6% to $259.3 million and truckload brokerage revenue rose 19.8% to $68 million.

Hub Group said its expenses decreased 5.5% in the quarter compared with last year.

Hub Group is ranked No. 41 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of North American logistics firms.
