hird-party logistics provider Hub Group said late Thursday it would buy Comtrak Inc., a trucking and drayage firm, for $38 million.

Hub Group said it expects the deal to close in the first quarter.

Comtrak, founded in 1983 and headquartered in Memphis, Tenn., has 15 terminals and 381 employees and located primarily in the Southeast, Hub Group said in a statement.

Comtrak's services include rail and drayage for the intermodal sector, full truckload transportation, container storage, yard management, truck brokerage and other logistics services, Hub Group said.

It utilizes company drivers and third-party owner operators to serve its customers. Comtrak’s revenue is expected to be about $85 million for 2005, Hub Group said.
