Hankook Launches New Tire Line

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Hankook Tire said it is launching a tire line in six sizes for the longhaul and regional drive trucking markets.

The announcement of the SmartFlex DL12 drive position tire aimed at fleet customers will be available in the third quarter, the manufacturer said in a statement released at the start of the Mid-America Trucking Show here. Sizes that will be available are 11R22.5 14 and 16 ply, 11R24.5 14 and 16 ply, 295/75R22.5 and 285/75R24.5.

“The new Smart Flex DL12 offers fleets nationwide an innovative new drive tire which focuses on traction, handling and durability,” said Brian Sheehey, Hankook Tire America Corp.’s director of commercial tire sales. “This new tire provides fleets the security and performance benefits they have been asking for in this segment.”

The new line is in addition to 20 truck tire models the Korean company has available in the United States.



The company said the new tire is designed to provide “excellent traction, tread wear, handling and stability in all weather conditions” using features such as a four-channel, full-depth zig-zag groove tread pattern and an improved bead profile.
