GXO Logistics is deploying a new end-to-end supply chain software solution to support its shared warehousing service GXO Direct, the company announced Oct. 3.

The Greenwich, Conn.-based contract logistics company said the solution will enable faster customer onboarding, startups and tech integration. It will also allow customers to utilize real-time data to enhance inventory management. The company deployed the new solution as part of a partnership with the supply chain software provider Blue Yonder.

“By leveraging Blue Yonder’s solutions, we’ll enable customers to add features and customized capabilities on an open WMS platform,” said Eduardo Pelleissone, president of the Americas and Asia Pacific regions at GXO . “Customers will now have an agile and cost-effective order management solution with real-time visibility of inventory and orders across all sites.

GXO Direct operates a network of strategically located hubs with the aim of increasing operational efficiency in its warehousing services. It’s also designed to position goods closer to the end consumer to enable one-day delivery. The new software solution will bolster these services with warehouse, labor and order management systems. It will also provide a warehouse execution system that includes robotics hubs, warehouse tasking and billing management.

“We’re excited to work with Blue Yonder to enhance our warehouse capabilities and deliver even faster speed-to-market for our customers,” said Steve Lewis, U.S. division president at GXO Direct. “To meet their needs, we are deploying Blue Yonder’s SaaS-based supply chain execution solutions. We’re seamlessly onboarding new customers twice as fast and giving them greater insight into operations, better forecasting with real-time data.”

GXO Logistics ranks No. 6 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest logistics companies in North America.
