GXO Logistics plans to hire more than 9,000 employees across the U.S. and Canada ahead of the peak holiday season, the company announced Oct. 13.
The open positions cover salaried, hourly and contractor roles with full- and part-time employment opportunities. Those roles include material handlers, operations supervisors, data analysts, robotics technicians, engineers and HR professionals.
“We’re proud to offer opportunities to thousands of people across the U.S. and Canada ahead of the busy holiday shopping season,” Chief Human Resources Officer Maryclaire Hammond said.
The company plans to deploy 3,100 robots in North America by the end of the year and open nine new automated sites in the U.S. and three in Europe. The company already has reported that warehouse automation increased by 40% year-over-year.
The peak holiday season this year is expected to be busy but with many challenges. Truckstop.com said Oct. 11 that it foresees volatility at least through the holidays due to the various supply chain constraints that the economy continues to experience.
