Goodyear to End Tire Production at Quebec Plant
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. said Thursday it will end tire production at its facility in Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada, and convert the facility to a mixing plant.
The factory does not make truck tires, a Goodyear spokesman told Transport Topics.There are about 1,000 workers at the plant, and the mixing center is expected to employ approximately 200 associates.Goodyear expects to complete the transition of the facility to a materials mixing center by the end of the second quarter.
