General Motors Corp., the largest U.S. automaker, may soon sell its medium-duty truck business, Bloomberg reported.

The unit last year built about 40,800 Chevrolet Kodiak, GMC TopKick and Isuzu T-Series models.

The Flint Journal reported that Navistar International Corp. may be interested, but spokesman Roy Wiley told Transport Topics, “We don’t comment on rumor or speculation.”

“This deal makes so much sense, I hope it gets done,” Bear Stearns analyst Peter Nesvold wrote in a note to investors.
