asoline prices jumped 10.7 cents in the past two weeks, reaching $3 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.

The hike was in tandem with a new record high in crude oil prices last week, said Trilby Lundberg, who publishes the twice-monthly Lundberg Survey.

The period for the survey ran from June 24 through Friday. The Department of Energy is scheduled to release its weekly gasoline and diesel price survey Monday afternoon.

The results marked the first time since record high gasoline prices last September that the national price has hit the $3 mark, Lundberg said.

The cheapest gas was in Charleston, S.C., where drivers paid an average of $2.70 per gallon. The highest was in Honolulu, at $3.27.
