Gasoline Drops to $2.42 a Gallon, Lundberg Says

asoline prices fell 24 cents in the past two weeks to $2.42 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.

Two weeks ago, Lundberg reported an average price of $2.66 a gallon.

The period for the survey ran from Sept. 11 through Friday. The Department of Energy is scheduled to release its weekly gasoline and diesel price survey Monday afternoon.



The cheapest gas was in Des Moines, Iowa, where drivers paid an average of $2.07 per gallon. The highest was in Honolulu, Hawaii, at $3.03 a gallon.
