Gary Locke Likely Commerce Pick

President Obama has chosen former Washington governor Gary Locke (D) to be Secretary of Commerce, the Washington Post reported.

Citing sources within the Obama administration, the Post reported Tuesday that Locke will be announced as the third nominee for the position, after New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson (D) and Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.) both withdrew from their nominations.

Locke served as Washington governor from 1996 to 2004, then left the position to practive law.

White House sources told the Post that no official announcement about the nomination would be made Tuesday or Wednesday.
