GAO May Issue Engine Report Just Before Fla. Diesel Summit

he General Accounting Office, Congress’ investigative arm, pushed back by two days the expected release date for its report on the Environmental Protection Agency’s handling of new diesel engine emissions rules, the official in charge of the report said.

John Stephenson, GAO’s director of natural resources and environment, told Transport Topics Feb. 24 the report was “on track for March 11 release” to the members of Congress who requested it. Earlier he had said the report would likely be released March 9.

The congressional representatives who requested the report will be first to receive it, he said.



One of the report requestors, Rep. Mac Collins (R-Ga.), is scheduled to speak at the March 16 Diesel Emissions Summit II in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
