Freightliner to Close S.C. Emergency Vehicle Plant

Freightliner LLC said it will cut about 250 jobs and close an American LaFrance emergency vehicle plant in Ladson, S. C., the Associated Press reported.

The Portland, Ore., truck manufacturing company said it was selling the plant and any buyer of the plant would determine if the employees would be retained.

The company is moving some manufacturing work to factories in New York and Wyoming, AP said.
